Why choose Holy Child?

We are committed to “academic challenge and the joy of learning” as advocated by our foundress Cornelia Connelly, herself a mother of five children and a convert to Catholicism.

Her educational philosophy was rooted in 'meeting the wants of the age'. To reflect this, our curriculum is broad, balanced and rooted in Catholic values. We continually review our approach to teaching and learning to keep abreast of best practice as well as enhancing our facilities to address curricular needs.

Our Mission & Ethos

Holy Child Killiney is a Catholic school in the network of schools of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, founded by Cornelia Connelly (1809 - 1879). It is committed to her educational philosophy: "to academic challenge and the joy of learning".

"Be yourself but let that self be all that God wants it to be".

Our mission is to nurture the intellectual, spiritual, artistic, social and physical development of each student in an atmosphere of openness and trust. We encourage our students to emerge as mature young women who are strong in faith and who are confident, caring and capable of making decisions that enrich their own lives and contribute to the lives of others -

"Actions Not Words".
